Insert Context Menu

To access this menu:

  • In the Plots or Logs window, select a sheet or projection and turn on Normal Mode using Manage ribbon | Layout | Layout Mode, then select Insert....

The Insert context menu is used to select a variety of objects for insertion in a plot or log sheet.

To configure these settings:

  1. Select Locatable Plot Item to insert a plot item from the Plot Item Library that will be linked to a specific point within a section, or the point where a 3-dimensional line intersects one or more sections.

    • Select Point to insert a locatable plot item that is only relevant to the current section, i.e. it will only be visible on the current view section.

    • Select Line to insert a plot item that can be configured to show up on a series of sections according to an imaginary two-point line that intersects one or more sections.

  2. See Locatable Plot Items.

  3. Select Outline to define the type of outline data you are adding. After an outline type has been defined, specify how this new data is to be held within the current project. This is done using the Create Line screen, displayed when Next is selected. See Insert Outline.

  4. Select 3D Line to create a 3-dimensional line within the current section using the Insert Line screen. See Insert Line.

  5. Select Text Annotation to insert text boxes into the current projection using the Text Annotation screen. See Text Annotation.

  6. Select Annotation Vector to insert an annotation vector, which is a line along which annotation can be aligned. See Annotation Lines.

  7. Select Dimension Arrow to add a multipoint line that displays the distance between specified points. See Dimension Arrows.

  8. Select Geological Feature, then select from the available features to add to your plot:

    • Select Lithology Outline to create a lithology boundary, for example by snapping to drillhole data.

    • Select Stratum to digitize strata. For stratum boundaries, the dominant lithology is automatically calculated, allowing high quality plots to be generated by coloring the boundaries with a suitable legend.

    • Select Ore Zone Boundary to add an ore zone outline to your plot. See Inserting Ore Zone Boundaries.

    • Select Vein to insert a vein indicator.

    • Select Reef to insert a reef indicator.

    • Select Polygon Feature to insert a generic polygonal (closed) feature on your plot.

    • Select Linear Feature to insert a generic linear (open) feature on your plot.

    • Select Fault to display a fault line.

    • Select Contact to digitize known contact planes/points.
